Mesut Ozil has also been benched as Emery opts for a 3-4-3, with Henrik Mkhitaryan, Alex Iwobi and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in attack.
Bournemouth made three alterations of their own as Dan Gosling started his first Premier League game in two months.
Joshua King returned following an ankle issue while Charlie Daniels also came in.
