Arsenal team confirmed vs Tottenham as Lokonga starts alongside Xhaka in midfield

Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White start for Arsenal in their final pre-season friendly before next week's Premier League opener against Brentford.

The Gunners take on north London rivals Tottenham in the Mind Series tournament on Sunday afternoon.

Mikel Arteta has named a strong team for the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with newboys White and Lokonga starting in midfield and defence respectively.

Hector Bellerin features in the backline along with Pablo Mari and Kieran Tierney, while Granit Xhaka starts in midfield with a new contract expected to be signed in the coming days.

Emile Smith Rowe plays in the no.10 role while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are the attacking options for Arsenal upfront.

The substitutes bench included Folarin Balogun who returns from injury, with Nuno Tavares, Reiss Nelson and Cedric Soares among the options Arteta can call upon.

Bukayo Saka is also on the bench after returning from his holiday and national team duties with England.

Arsenal XI vs Tottenham: Leno, Bellerin, White, Mari, Tierney, Lokonga, Xhaka, Pepe, Smith Rowe, Aubameyang, Lacazette.

Subs: Runarsson, Hein, Cedric, Maitland-Niles, Chambers, Kolasinac, Tavares, Elneny, Nelson, Saka, Balogun.
