Arsenal team confirmed vs Burnley: Willian starts and Smith Rowe gets place on the bench

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has welcomed back Willian into the starting XI for Sunday's game against Burnley.

The Brazilian didn't feature in the Europa League game against Dundalk in midweek but takes his place in the team at Emirates Stadium as Arteta makes just one change from the side that lost 2-0 to Tottenham in the north London derby.

Thomas Partey's thigh injury, which saw him withdrawn at half-time, means Mohamad Elneny - who played 62 minutes and scored against Dundalk - makes his first Premier League start since November 8, providing some much-needed steel in the centre of the park against a combative Burnley team.

Bernd Leno returns in goal while Gabriel and Rob Holding partner each other at the back. David Luiz misses out through injury with Hector Bellerin and Kieran Tierney in the full-back positions.

Granit Xhaka partners Elneny in midfield while Alexandre Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka feature in a full-strength attack.

Arsenal are without a home league win since October 4 and urgently need three points to reinvigorate a season drifting towards mediocrity.

Confirmed Arsenal XI: Leno; Bellerin, Gabriel, Holding, Tierney; Xhaka, Elneny, Saka; Willian, Lacazette, Aubameyang.
