Arsenal target James Maddison gives Harry Kane verdict after he makes vital England contribution

Leicester City midfielder James Maddison has hailed Spurs’ Harry Kane as the best striker in the world.

The England captain once again starred for the Three Lions on Wednesday night as he played a key role in their equaliser against Denmark.

The Danes had initially taken the lead through a stunning Mikkel Damsgaard free-kick from distance before Kane then had his intervention.

He found a pocket of space just outside of the penalty area and was then able to play through Bukayo Saka down the right-flank, with the Arsenal youngster then pulling the ball across for Raheem Sterling.

Simon Kjaer attempted to intervene but ended up slamming the ball into his own net ironically past Maddison's Leicester teammate Kasper Schmeichel.

Following the strike, the 24-year-old took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the Spurs striker.

He at first tweeted "what a pass," before then following it up with a more detailed assessment on Kane’s talents.

Maddison continued: "Harry Kane...best centre forward in world football for me. People tried to talk because he didn’t score for a couple of games but goes back to that old saying, form is temporary but class is permanent."

As Maddison suggested, the Spurs forward endured a slow start to the tournament as he failed to score in any of the opening three matches of the group stages against Croatia, Scotland and the Czech Republic.

His Euro 2020 burst into life against Germany though before following that up with a brace in the quarter-final tie against Ukraine in Rome.
