Arsenal target Everton drops two transfer hints after revealing he has had offer

Brazil star Everton Soares has fuelled rumours he could join Arsenal this transfer window after dropping two transfer hints on social media.

The Copa America star has been linked with a switch to the Gunners and admitted earlier this week he has a proposal on the table from an unnamed club.

Reports in Brazil have suggested an Arsenal doctor has travelled to the country to conduct a medical on the £36m winger, who played for Gremio in their Copa do Brasil quarter-final win over Bahia on Wednesday.

He has now followed fellow Brazilian and new Arsenal signing Gabriel Martinelli on Instagram .

It comes on the same day footage of Everton learning English was shared by his wife, Isa Ranieri, on Instagram.

The versatile attacker has previously been linked with Manchester City and starred in Brazil's Copa America triumph, winning man of the match in the final and finishing as joint top goalscorer with three goals.

After returning to domestic action at the weekend in a 2-1 Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A win over Vasco da Gama, he responded to transfer speculation and declared: “I do not know. It's an unknown.

“Really. I do not know what can happen. As time goes by, things are tapering.

“I have a proposal. I cannot talk to the club.

“I do not guarantee that I will play against Bahia on Wednesday. We will see.”

He could be viewed as an alternative to Wilfried Zaha for the Gunners, although their top target has reportedly told Crystal Palace he wants to move to north London after returning from the African Cup of Nations.

But he could still be out of Arsenal's price range and Everton could represent a much more affordable solution for Unai Emery for under £40m as he works under tight financial constraints.
