Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Friday, April 3.
Gunners target drops hint
Arsenal target Jonathan David has dropped a huge hint about where his future lies, after admitting he would love to play in the Premier League.
The 20-year-old Canadian striker has scored 18 goals this term, as well as providing seven assists to his Gent team-mates in the Belgian Pro League.
Football.london understands that Arsenal have known about David for a while now but they are not the only club interested in the young prospect.
“I don’t really focus on that or think much about it,” David said to the Guardian.
“Right now, I’m playing almost every minute of every game and that has really helped me get to the level that I need to be.
“I just need to make a good step where I can make sure I am getting enough time on the pitch to keep developing.
“I don’t want to go somewhere and just stay on the bench, so, it’s about taking the right step.
“I want to become one of the best strikers in the world. That’s my goal. The Premier League is the best in the world and most competitive, so, obviously that is somewhere I would love to play in the future.”
Gunners tipped to hijack Spurs
Arsenal have been tipped to fight north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur for Max Aarons in the summer.
The Gunners have been priced at 6/4 with BonusCodeBets.co.uk to sign Aarons but will have to beat Spurs to the signature of the highly-rated 20-year-old.
With current right-back Hector Bellerin constantly struggling with fitness issues, Arsenal may look to provide some competition or back-up to the Spaniard.
Aarons has an average of 0.5 crosses-per-match, being one of Norwich City’s regular starters this season, with just Emi Buendia, with 1.3, the only player in the Canaries squad, who averages more.
Arsenal’s centre-backs ranked
Arsenal’s centre-back position is one that could be seriously changed this season if rumours are to be believed.
There have been some solid individual performances from the Gunners’ defence and the backline has shown gradual improvement since Mikel Arteta’s appointment.
However, if Arteta wants his Arsenal side to become consistent top-four contenders, and even title challengers, then there might need to be some personnel changes at the Emirates Stadium.
Football.london has done its best to try and rank the Arsenal central defenders from worst to best. And you can find the results on the above link.
The Gunners will see William Saliba return from his loan in the summer, and he is tipped to be the man to partner David Luiz in the centre of Arsenal’s defence.
