'Arsenal takeover' - Fans will love what Bukayo Saka said about Emile Smith Rowe decision

Arsenal's Hale End graduates Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe have been called-up to England together for the first-time in their senior careers.

After impressing at Euro 2020, Saka is now a regular in Gareth Southgate's squad but Smith Rowe is yet to make his senior debut for the Three Lions.

The Gunners' new no.10 is enjoying an electric run of form at the moment and his performances have earned him a late call-up to the England squad after Marcus Rashford, James Ward-Prowse, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw did not report for international duty.

Smith Rowe has found the net in each of his last three Premier League games, a run that included the winning goal against Watford on Sunday as Mikel Arteta's side made it 10 games unbeaten in all competitions.

And judging by a conversation Saka had at St George's Park on Tuesday morning, the Arsenal winger is very happy for his friend and feels as though it is well deserved.

"You spoken to Emile [Smith Rowe] today?" Saka was asked by a cameraman, as shown on England's official YouTube account.

"I spoke to him last night."

"Is he gassed [excited/happy]?"

"Of course he is. He messaged me last night and I was just so happy for him. So, make sure you say hello to him when he comes."

The short discussion ended with a slight joke from the cameraman who asked whether there will be an 'Arsenal takeover' in the England camp.

"Arsenal takeover?"

"Yeah, slowly," Saka replied.

With Smith Rowe now part of Southgate's plans, three Gunners are in the squad for the games against Albania and San Marino.

And if Aaron Ramsdale is finally handed the chance to perform in an England shirt over the next week or so, Arsenal could have two more players capped by the Three Lions before their next Premier League game against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.
