Arsenal supporters will love what Mesut Ozil did in training ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Arsenal return to Premier League action on Sunday afternoon as they welcome London rivals Crystal Palace to the Emirates Stadium.

One of the main talking points heading into the game is Mesut Ozil.

The former Germany international is going through somewhat of an exile at the moment as he's been left out of the last five matchday squads by head coach Unai Emery.

Speaking following the 3-2 win over Vitoria in the Europa League on Thursday night, the Spaniard offered no assurances that Ozil would be involved against the Eagles.

"I think tonight is not the time to speak on that," the Spaniard told reporters.

Then when asked if Ozil still has a future at Arsenal, Emery was giving nothing away.

"I prefer to speak about the match and about the players that played," he added. "He wasn't in the squad and that was the decision and we will now work for Sunday."

Whatever Emery decides remains to be seen, but judging by a training session ahead of the London derby, Ozil hasn't lost his magical touch in front of goal.

In a 'goalkeepers special episode' - uploaded to the club's official YouTube account - Ozil produced his trademark dinked finish over one of Arsenal's young stoppers.

One Arsenal fan commented: "Touch of class from Mesut Ozil" but will fans get to see that finish or even the player himself in action against Palace?

Also involved in the training session was Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Bukayo Saka and Granit Xhaka who were all testing Bernd Leno, Matt Macey and company.

The aforementioned trio as well as Leno will most likely be restored to the Arsenal line-up on Sunday afternoon having not featured on Thursday night.
