Arsenal supporters will love what Lucas Torreira has done amid talk of AC Milan transfer

Lucas Torreira seems to have shut down talk of him leaving Arsenal for AC Milan this summer.

Despite only arriving at the Emirates Stadium from Sampdoria less than 12 months ago, rumours of a swift return to Italy have been rife in recent days and there was even suggestions the midfielder was unhappy in London and had asked for a move.

However, football.london understands he has not told the club hierarchy that he wants to leave even Torreira has been honest about his preference for life in Italy over England.

Yet, the rumours of Torreira reunited with his former manager Marco Giampaolo simply won't go away.

And it would appear that the 23-year-old has taken matters into his own hands, initially without saying a single word.

Currently in Brazil for this summer's Copa America tournament, the Uruguay international took time out of his busy schedule to upload an image to his Instagram account.

The picture is supposedly of two members of his family, with the youngest one sporting the 'Torreira 11' Arsenal jersey from the season just gone.

That will be seen as Torreria's way of shutting down rumours about his future and he also commented on links to the Serie A giants during a press conference.

"Nobody from AC Milan has got in touch with me, today I'm in the Premier and happy to be part of Arsenal," he said. "It cost me the adaptation, it's not easy, but I only think about that team. I'm happy to be there."

This should also please former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell who had some harsh words for AC Milan.

"Torreira did well last season for Arsenal even if he ran out of steam a bit towards the end of the campaign," he told football.london. "He has become an important player for the club - so for Milan to offer to take him on loan, well, what is point the of that?

"It certainly doesn't benefit Arsenal - what do I think about that? No chance! Milan have got no chance of taking Torreria on loan."
