Arsenal supporters will love what Ben White did during the North London Derby vs Tottenham

Ben White may have been ignored by Gareth Southgate in England's most recent squad, but the defender continued his impressive start to the season with his performance against Tottenham. White has been operating in an unfamiliar role all season at Arsenal, but he is yet to let Mikel Arteta down while playing at right-back.

While Arsenal fans will have loved the 24-year-old's display against Spurs, it was something he did off the pitch that will make him an even more popular figure among the Gunners supporters. White was substituted in the 89th minute for Takehiro Tomiyasu with Arsenal leading 3-1 thanks to goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka.

Looking to frustrate the 10-men of Tottenham after Emerson Royal was sent off for a reckless lunge after 62 minutes, Arsenal were quite happy to let the clock run down, but referee Anthony Taylor forced White to leave the field at the nearest exit, as he slowly walked across the pitch looking to kill time.

Leaving the pitch at the nearest exit meant that White had to make a long walk around the perimeter of the pitch, and his journey took him past the Spurs supporters in the away section. The defender looked towards the Tottenham fans and reminded them of the score with his fingers, waving three of them towards them on the one hand, and one finger on the other.

Theo Walcott famously reminded Spurs fans of the score when Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-0 in the FA Cup in 2014. Walcott was being stretchered off the field after sustaining an injury and he gestured the score towards the Spurs fans.

Walcott was adored by Arsenal supporters for taking that dig at Spurs, and it's likely that White will be just as loved for his actions.
