Arsenal director Josh Kroenke has apparently doubled down on his stance that KSE (Kroenke Sports & Entertainment) will provide funds to manager Mikel Arteta in the summer transfer window.
Ahead of a number of Gunners supporters protesting against current owner Stan Kroenke outside the Emirates Stadium on Friday evening, Josh spoke at a fans' forum where he addressed plans to help rebuild the first-team squad.
"We have big plans to invest," he told supporters groups representatives on a video call, as per REDaction Gooners on Twitter.
"We have plans, we want to be great again, but a long-term model does not support long-term high investment.
"No intention of selling."
And now Josh Kroenke has now reportedly told Arsenal staff of their summer plans - and it's great news for Arteta.
ESPN are reporting that he not only did he insist that KSE will not entertain any offers to sell Arsenal amid talk of a takoever bid from Daniel Ek, he also reiterated the club's transfer plans on an internal call with around 350 staff held via Microsoft Teams on Tuesday afternoon.
In addition, it's claimed that the that lasted nearly an hour which also included Gunners chief executive Vinai Venkatesham, Kroenke stressed that there is total commitment to helping the team compete for major trophies again.
Kroenke is also said to have underlined their intent to help provide fresh funds this summer to help manager Arteta continue his rebuild of the Arsenal first-team squad.
To KSE's credit, they did fund the £45 million deal to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid last summer and Kroenke has apparently indicated they are willing to inject further money to pursue new signings when the window reopens.
As revealed by football.london, Arteta is keen on signing Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on a permanent deal this summer, while the right-back and left-back positions will also look to be strengthened.
Meanwhile, the likes of Julian Brandt, Nabil Fekir, Achraf Hakimi, and Tariq Lamptey are just some of the names being linked with a move to north London ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Just how much KSE are willing to invest this summer remains to be seen, but all the noises coming out of the club in recent days may just fill Arsenal fans and Arteta with some renewed hope.
