Arsenal suffer huge blow ahead of upcoming Nottingham Forest clash

Arsenal forward Alexandre Lacazette has been ruled out of the club's upcoming cup clash with Nottingham Forest .

The Reds head to the Emirates Stadium to take on the Gunners for in the third round of the Carabao Cup, and were preparing themselves to take on Arsenal's feared 35-goal Premier League strike partnership of Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang.

But instead Sabri Lamouchi's side have been handed a major boost ahead of the fixture with the news that the French international has been ruled out until October with an ankle injury.

The Arsenal forward has been playing through the pain in recent outings but has now been advised to rest by the club's medical professionals after undergoing an assessment on the injury.

The 28-year-old will also miss the Gunners' trips to face local rivals Watford, Aston Villa and their Europa League clash with Eintract Frankfurt.

And the club have refused to put a date on his return, confirming only that he will be forced to watch from the sidelines until at least October.

Unfortunately for Forest, besides Lacazette, Hector Bellerin and and Kieran Tierney, the rest of Arsenal's £600m squad remains fully fit.
