Arsenal submit £17.8m 'first offer' for summer transfer target as Real Madrid make decision

Here's all the news from around the Emirates Stadium over the past 24 hours.

New Bissouma asking price

Arsenal have been told how much it will cost to sign Yves Bissouma this summer.

That's according to the latest reports, with Brighton and Hove Albion hoping to get every last penny out of one of their star men amid interest from the Gunners as well as Liverpool.

According to The Sun, the Seagulls want £40million.

The Seagulls appear resigned to losing the 24-year-old ahead of next season and with evident demand, they have slapped a price tag on the midfielder worth more than double what Transfermarkt value him at (£15.3million).

Furthermore, they have changed Bissouma's asking price if reports are to be believed.

The Daily Star recently reported that Arsenal are 'confident' of landing Bissouma - but only for a £30m fee.

There may be some room for wiggle, given Brighton are not going to be able to extend Bissouma's contract beyond 2023, meaning this is the peak point for the Seagulls to get a fee from their key midfielder.

Berge 'first offer' submitted

With that said, Bissouma is not the only midfielder on Arsenal's radar.

Mikel Arteta is keen to sign Sheffield United's Sander Berge in a bid to build a dream engine room for the 2021/22 campaign.

Furthermore, football.london understands Berge is keen on a move to Arsenal, particularly if the Gunners can convince Real Madrid to let them keep Martin Odegaard beyond this season.

It remains to be seen if the north London outfit are successful in their attempts to land Odegaard, but they will need to improve on their first offer for Berge in order to complete the first part of their double transfer mission.

According to French outlet Jeunes Footeux via Sport Witness, Arsenal have already made a bid worth around £17.2million for Berge.

However, Sheffield United are said to have turned that offer down and are said to be demanding a minimum of £25.8million plus a 10-20% sell-on fee.

Real Madrid make transfer decision

Real Madrid are reportedly set to sell up to 10 players this summer.

That is according to Spanish newspaper AS, and top of the list is former Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, while Dani Ceballos - currently on loan at Arsenal - is also included.

Furthermore, the report states the reason behind this transfer decision is due to the coronavirus pandemic that has decimated Spanish football finances.

As a result, Real Madrid think selling some of their big names out will help them through it.

One notable absentee from the reported list is Odegaard.

This would all but confirm that Los Blancos have no intention to sell the Norwegian this summer, meaning the Gunners may have to look elsewhere to fill the creative midfield void.
