Sam Greenwood is closing in on an exit from Arsenal as he is set to undergo a medical with newly-promoted Leeds United today, Football.London understands.
The 18-year-old forward is highly-rated in English football and will become the latest addition for Leeds' U23 ranks ahead of their Premier League return, with the potential to push forward into the first-team in the future.
Greenwood was a notable absentee from the Arsenal squad for yesterday's pre-season friendly against MK Dons, along with fellow striker Falorin Balogun.
As reported on Monday, Mikel Arteta's side are set for a trio of departures from their youth ranks with Greenwood and Balogun set for permanent exits.
Meanwhile, Tyreece John-Jules is poised to move on loan to the Championship, where a wealth of clubs are interested, as the next stage in his development.
The initial fee that Arsenal will receive for Greenwood is understood to be around £1.5m, with future bonuses and clauses raising the potential price to £3m.
