Manchester United have been linked with a shock move for Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Reports in Italy say United have identified Aubameyang as a perfect replacement for Romelu Lukaku should the Belgian leave this summer.
Inter Milan have a keen interest in Lukaku, and, according to Tuttosport, Aubameyang has 'said yes' to the idea of joining United.
Aubameyang won the Premier League golden boot last season with 22 goals, and it would be hoped he offered a similar impact as Robin van Persie did when he joined United.
But at 30 years old, Aubameyang would go against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's transfer policy of signing young players with plenty of potential, and Arsenal would be keen to recoup the £54m they paid for him 18 months ago.
However unlikely the report is, it would depend on the future of Lukaku, and reports say United are set to reject Inter Milan's opening offer.
Inter were hopeful of signing Lukaku on a two-year loan deal for a fee of £9million with the Italian club then obligated to buy the striker for £54m in 2021.
ESPN say United are holding out for £80m for the striker, although it is the MEN’s understanding that United are willing to sell him for £75m, with some of that fee coming in the form of attainable add-ons.
Meanwhile, O Jogo (via Sky Sports) say United are set to meet with Bruno Fernandes’ agent to get an advantage in a £70m deal for the prolific midfielder.
Liverpool are also said to be preparing a bid, while Tottenham are also linked as the race for the 24-year-old hots up.
