Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang delivers Premier League title verdict

Arsenal have started the season with back-to-back wins.

After an opening day win over Newcastle United, the Gunners followed it up with a hard-fought win over Burnley at the weekend.

Goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang were sandwiched by an Ashley Barnes strike to hand the Gunners a second three points of the season.

And it leaves the Gunners joint top of the Premier League as one of only two teams to have won both their games so far - although Man United can join them and Liverpool there with victory over Wolves on Monday Night Football.

Arsenal finished fifth last year, a whopping 28 points behind champions Manchester City.

And they will be aiming to close that gap this time around.

Unai Emery: We never want to play against Liverpool

Are they capable of mounting a title challenge though?

Aubameyang offered his view on the title to French broadcaster Canal Plus following the win over Burnley.

He said: "I think we have made good signings, that will help us. Last season, we were not far away from qualifying for the Champions League. Whatever happens, that is the most important thing, the most important aim for us - to be back in the Champions League.

"Aside from that, to fight for the title, we know very well that the big guns are ready but we are also ready and in any case we are going to give our all to match the big guns if possible."
