Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette responds after sustaining worrying injury against Man United

Alexandre Lacazette has allayed fears that his injury sustained against Manchester United is serious after posting a reassuring message on Instagram, from what looks like a medical room.

Lacazette was taken off in injury time during Saturday's 0-0 draw with Manchester United after competing for an aerial ball with Harry Maguire and then landing awkwardly on his head.

The 29-year-old, who has been integral to the Gunners' post-Christmas revival, received treatment for several minutes on the turf before he was taken off and examined by doctors, who will now determine when he can return to first-team action.

Lacazette posted: "All good over on this side. Thanks for the doctors for the support and the fans for their concern."

Lacazette's absence would be a major blow for Mikel Arteta who's set to be without Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Tuesday's Premier League fxture against Wolves, as he quarantines, leaving Eddie Nketiah as his only orthodox central striker.

In his post-match press conference, Arteta was unable to give any details surrounding the injury as he waiting for the doctors to assess Lacazette.

Arsenal came in for criticism earlier in the season when David Luiz played on until half-time against Wolves despite sustaining a head injury in challenging for a header with Raul Jimenez.

"He landed on his head, I don’t know, they will check him, the doctor is on it," Arteta said. "He was feeling fine right now, so hopefully it’s nothing important.

"It’s a big worry because we have so many players out at the moment and some players who are struggling to keep playing minutes."

Arsenal travel to Molineux on Tuesday to take on Wolves looking to extend their unbeaten Premier League run to eight matches with the visit of Aston Villa to Emirates Stadium then the following Saturday.
