Arsenal stars send clear message to Newcastle loanee Joe Willock after Liverpool equaliser

Arsenal stars have showered Newcastle United loanee Joe Willock with praise following his latest goal against Liverpool.

The Gunners prospect stepped off the bench and scored in the 96th minute to earn Steve Bruce's side a valuable draw at Anfield on Saturday.

It came just minutes after Callum Wilson saw his strike controversially ruled out by VAR for handball, and it is a point which lifts Steve Bruce's side nine points clear of the relegation zone with five matches left to play.

Willock has now scored in his last three substitute appearances, having grabbed the equaliser against Tottenham before bagging the late winner against West Ham.

However, the 21-year-old was quick to dismiss the 'super sub' label which was put to him in the post-match interviews at Anfield.

Willock showed his joy at the late leveller in an Instagram post on Saturday, adding he is 'grateful for the love' from United supporters.

The Gunners prospect has spent the last three months away from the capital, but it is clear his Arsenal team-mates are delighted with the form he has shown on Tyneside.

Here's how Willock's Arsenal team-mates reacted to the midfielder's post and equaliser against Liverpool:

Alexandre Lacazette wrote: "ManLikeJoWillooooooock."

Eddie Nketiah commented: "Don't play wid him."

Bukayo Saka posted: "Willockinhooo."

Reiss Nelson replied: "King. Keep shining!!!"

And Emile Smith-Rowe was clear in his praise with his response to Willock's post.
