Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah sends a message to Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa over lack of starts

Eddie Nketiah has opened up on his battle for a first team spot in the Leeds United starting line-up.

Nketiah, who joined the Whites on loan from Arsenal in the summer, has featured in nine matches in the Championship this season for Marcelo Bielsa's side - but none of them have been starts.

But the England youth international, who was once again named on the bench for his side's clash against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday lunchtime, has revealed how he has to put a case together to earn his first start for the Elland Road club.

"It was nice to get on. The team were drawing so I just tried to add a bit of life to the attack," the forward told Sky Sports after his side's 0-0 draw with Wednesday.

"We managed to create a couple of chances and overall it was a positive second half. They are a tough team so it was a good point.

"Obviously it's the manager's decision and all I can do is just keep working hard. I need to put forward a case to play.

"If I play five, ten or 15 minutes, I will always try and help the team and add something positive."

Leeds drew 0-0 at Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday, with Bielsa saying during a bizarre press conference prior to the game that Patrick Bamford, who has been preferred to Nketiah in the starting lineup, "runs for the will of the team" while Nketiah "runs only to score".
