Arsenal starlet Eddie Nketiah gives honest verdict on his Leeds United future

Eddie Nketiah has said that he'll 'never be happy sitting on the bench' as speculation over his Leeds future continues.

The Arsenal striker joined the Championship side on a season-long loan deal in the summer but has failed to break into Marcelo Bielsa's starting XI despite scoring four goals in eight appearances for the Yorkshire side - many of which have been from the bench.

Reports have suggested that the Gunners could line up another loan move for the striker in January if his situation doesn't improve, but as reported by Football.London , no discussions have taken place.

Nketiah didn't let the speculation bother him on Tuesday night as he bagged a hat-trick for England under-21s, but speaking after the game he did vent his frustration at his club situation.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I'm just trying to do as much as I can, you know.

"Obviously I'll never be happy with being on the bench. I want to play and pride myself on being in the team and I'm good enough to be in the team.

"All I can do is put in the performances that I do.

"When I come on I try and contribute and I think with the chances I've had I've done really well. I'm always trying to help the team when I come on and going away with England is always a great opportunity to put a case forward and show myself.

"It's a great platform and I'm grateful to be here. I just want to continue doing well at this level and for Leeds."
