Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah looks set to force his way into the Leeds starting XI after scoring on his league debut.
Nketiah’s late goal maintained his impressive start to the season, after he also netted on his full debut last week, against Salford in the Carabao Cup.
The 20-year-old has had to be patient during the early weeks of the season, as Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa has preferred Patrick Bamford in his starting XI in the Championship, but the Argentine is prepared to use the pair together in future.
Bielsa said: “It is important to play both strikers together. Both mix well. One is right-footed and the other is a left-footed player. Eddie can make an impact in the middle.”
Up until Nketiah’s goal, Brentford had put up a solid defensive performance, while at the other end of the pitch summer signing Bryan Mbeumo hit the post.
Bees boss Thomas Frank said: “I can’t imagine, going forward, a more difficult away ground to go to than this one.
