Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has turned down a fresh contract offer from the club, according to recent reports.
Nketiah's current deal at the Emirates Stadium expires at the end of the season, meaning he is free to discuss a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs in the January transfer window.
The 22-year-old has been with the north Londoners since he was 16, joining from Chelsea after the Blues deemed him to be too small for the elite level.
Now, Sky Sports have reported that the former England Under-21 international has rebuffed a fresh contract proposal from the Gunners.
It is claimed that his thinking isn't financial, with lack of game time the primary reason for his decision.
The former Leeds United loanee's decision will come as a major blow to Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta, who has consistently stated that he wants to keep Nketiah at the club.
Speaking back in October, Arteta said: "We had a situation in the summer that we tried to resolve and we couldn't either way," Arteta said.
"That is the contract situation that is more and more common in football for where we are coming from with Covid and a lot of the issues that we have to resolve.
"I have full belief that he is going to be a top, top player and hopefully at Arsenal. I'm happy to have him, he is our player, I regard him really highly and from my side I want him to stay."
Nketiah is yet to feature for the Gunners in the Premier League this season, making just two appearances in the EFL Cup, scoring in both outings
