Arsenal continued their solid start to the new season by edging out Burnley 2-1 at the Emirates this afternoon and it left Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang feeling excited about what's to come.
The Gunners began the 2019/20 Premier League campaign last week by seeing off Newcastle United in a hard-fought 1-0 victory at St James' Park.
Aubameyang was the match winner in the North East and he provided the same impact for the Gunners again at home to Burnley.
Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring but Ashley Barnes equalised before the break, only for Aubameyang to steal the show once more.
After the victory, during which new signings David Luiz and Dani Ceballos made their first starts, Aubameyang was brimming with confidence and even provided a prediction fans will love.
"We started well today and it is good to start with two wins before we go to Liverpool, we feel confident and feel good," Aubameyang told BT Sport.
"I think we feel stronger with players like David Luiz, Dani Ceballos, and [Nicolas] Pepe. We are sure we can fight for the top four."
It might not sound like too much of a leap for Arsenal to finish in the top four after ending the 2018/19 campaign in fifth, but Aubameyang's comments point to a renewed sense of optimism at the Emirates which has been lacking for some time.
