Arsenal assistant head coach Steve Bould has paid tribute to Lucas Torreira’s instant impact at the club.
Torreira has switfly become a fan favourite at the Emirates with his tenacious performances in the middle of the park seeing him become an integral player under Unai Emery.
His partnership with Granit Xhaka has been a particular highlight. The Swiss, an oft-maligned figure at the club during his first two seasons, has started all 12 of Arsenal’s league matches this term with Bould believing the presence of the tireless Uruguayan has helped.
When asked if Torreira’s arrival has aided Xhaka, Bould told Arsenal Player: "Yeah. They look like they could be a good partnership.
"Torreira looks like he’s always played here. He’s just a great kid and nothing bothers him, he’s always got a smile on his face every day."
Torreira has already found himself compared to club great Patrick Vieira with the 22-year-old impressing all the Arsenal staff from day one.
Bould added: “He’s just one of those players that will do everything you ask, won’t question it and you know that he’ll do it to the best of his ability.”
