Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly has been left out of the England squad for Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Serbia.
Lewis-Skelly trained with the team on Monday morning and travelled to Belgrade.
England took 24 players to Serbia but, under UEFA rules, only 23 can be included in the matchday squad.
Jarrell Quansah was left out of Saturday’s win over Andorra but this time it is Lewis-Skelly who has not made the cut.
Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi, who was taken off against Andorra due to a groin issue, is fit and is in the matchday squad.
Arsenal will view Lewis-Skelly’s omission as a boost as it means the 18-year-old gets a night off before the Gunners return to Premier League action on Saturday lunchtime, when they host Nottingham Forest.
Lewis-Skelly started the 2-0 win over Andorra last weekend and played the full 90 minutes at Villa Park.
The left-back’s omission from the squad means that Thomas Tuchel will be forced into at least one change for the game with Serbia.
Tottenham defender Djed Spence could make his England debut, while Newcastle’s Tino Livramento is another option.
Serbia are England’s toughest opponents in their World Cup qualifying group, but Tuchel hopes it will bring out the best in his players.
“They (Serbia) are a very sporty country; they have world-class sportsmen,” he said.
“We will face quality and emotions. I think the opponent and the occasion will bring out the very best in us tomorrow night.”
