Arsenal star Kieran Tierney's Euro injury sweat as injury looks 'serious'

Arsenal and Scotland face an anxious few days as it has been reported that Kieran Tierney is set for a scan on what looks like a "serious" knee injury.

The Scotland international, who is from Muirhouse, was injured during Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday, and was taken off inside first-half stoppage time following a collision with James Milner.

Reports in the Daily Mail suggest Tierney could be facing "several weeks" on the sidelines following the incident.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was quoted as saying: "He felt something in his knee and he was in pain."

Scotland boss Steve Clarke will also be looking on anxiously, as Tierney is a key member of the squad for the Euros, and produced some outstanding displays in the three recent World Cup qualifiers, putting in three assists during the 4-0 win over the Faroe Islands.

If Tierney is out for weeks rather than months then he should be able to take part in the tournament, which starts in June, but that depends on the scan and rehabilitation the star will need to undergo.
