Lee Dixon has compared Kieran Tierney to fellow Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn.
Dixon and Winterburn both achieved immense success with Arsenal under George Graham and Arsene Wenger, and Dixon has been impressed with the former Celtic youngster.
Tierney's form since English football restarted this summer has been consistently impressive, and saw him named Player of the Month for June by Arsenal fans. He also played an important part in the club's FA Cup success.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Dixon said: “Kieran has been likened to Nigel Winteburn and that’s a great thing to have on your CV.
“He’s got that hunger, that desire, that willingness to run all day. That should be a given but sometimes it isn’t.

“We look at players today and we are sometimes critical of their effort.
“The fact Kieran has that plus the way Mikel Arteta wants him to play.
“I was really impressed with him when he first came. He then obviously got the injuries.
“I hadn’t seen a lot of Kieran before he arrived but a friend of mine is a big Celtic fan and he talked about how he would come through bad games.
“Nigel very rarely had a bad game but when he dipped below his normal standards he’d still get seven out of ten.
“If that’s your bottom level then you’re doing well. Nigel wasn’t someone who stood out with ten out of tens but he would just churn performances out.”
Tierney, who has been capped 12 times by Scotland, joined Arsenal from Celtic for £25m in 2019.
