Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus sends Manchester City Premier League title warning

Arsenal can extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table this weekend with victory over West Ham. The Gunners currently sit six points clear of Manchester City with eight games remaining.

Mikel Arteta's side will be hoping for a favour from Leicester City in this evening's clash at the Etihad Stadium. Should the champions defeat the Foxes, the lead will be trimmed to only three points.

The outcome of this superb title race remains in the hands of the north Londoners. Following their game with West Ham on Sunday, they welcome Southampton to the Emirates Stadium before visiting Man City in a crunch game on Wednesday, April 26.

One man who is set to play a key role in the run-in is Gabriel Jesus. The Brazilian has scored three goals in his last two games after returning from a knee injury. Jesus joined the Gunners from Man City in the summer - alongside Oleksandr Zinchenko - and has proved to be a worthy piece of business.

Jesus' goals could be the difference in Arsenal winning their first league title in 19 years and the 26-year-old has insisted he's been in a similar position in the early days of his career. "I have experience when Palmeiras was without winning the league for 20 years, here is quite the same," he told BBC Sport.

"That's why I've come. I'm not saying we'll win the league because nothing is decided yet, but we are there, fighting until the end."

Jesus scored 21 goals in 52 games for Palmeiras before moving to the Premier League in 2017, with 13 coming in their 2016 Serie A win. The Brazilian has become accustomed to winning trophies with four Premier League titles, one FA Cup, three EFL Cups and the Community Shield with Man City.
