Former England U21 boss Stuart Pearce believes Arsenal talent Eddie Nketiah shares an impressive trait with Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
The 20-year-old forward scored four goals for England's U21 side during the international break, including a hat-trick in Tuesday's 5-1 drubbing of Austria.
That has seen the hype around Nketiah , who is spending the season on loan with Leeds United in the Championship, increase significantly and there are vast hopes for his future.
Now, Pearce has given Nketiah a huge piece of praise by comparing him to Liverpool's Champions League-winning superstar Salah , explaining why he has that view.
“I think if I was a striker in this day and age, a young English striker, I’d just copy Mo Salah in his movement, running in behind," he said during his BT Sport commentary.
“Nketiah’s certainly got that trait about him. The ones that run in behind are the ones that score goals in the modern game. ”
Nketiah is yet to start a league match for Leeds so far this season but has scored four goals in nine appearances of all competitions, including two off the bench in the Championship.
He opened his Premier League account for the Gunners on the final day of last season against Burnley, becoming the first teenager to score for the Gunners in the league since Alex Iwobi in 2016.
