Arsenal star Alexandre Lacazette's dressing room role revealed as £27m man contacts club

Despite not taking part in European competition this season, it's still been a busy few days behind-the-scenes for Arsenal.

After a slow start to the Premier League season, many fans were panicking over their club's chances of success this term but Mikel Arteta's men have turned things around and now sit in sixth place on 17 points.

With a rebuild still underway, the young side have made great strides since going into the season's first international break bottom of the table with zero points on the board.

And as Arteta continues to try and build a side capable of challenging at the top end of the table, work has continued to help make his side as strong as possible, with transfers being readied, loanees planning to return and senior players stepping up to the mark.

Alexandre Lacazette steps up to senior role

Martin Keown says Arsenal's the younger players 'love having Alexandre Lacazette around' and he's been proving a positive impact on the likes of Emile Smith Rowe and Bukyo Saka.

Club legend Keown says Arsenal's young team can 'learn a great deal' from how the French forward has handled himself so far this term.

He told Mirror Online: "I think he is someone who brings a lot of energy, the players would have watched him not starting in the first nine games. They watch the way that he works, his worth ethic, the way he is around the building, always positive, and they can learn a great deal from that."

£60m man gives transfer boost

Reported Arsenal target Alexander Isak has declared "it would be nice to play in England" in an update which is sure to alert the Gunners hierarchy.

The Sweden international, 22, was a target for Arsenal throughout the summer transfer window but ultimately stayed put at Sociedad, where he is under contract until 2026.

And although happy at his current club Real Sociedad, Isak says he wants to 'reach the highest possible level'.

"I am in a good place at the moment, I am very happy, but one day it would be nice to play in England as well," the Sweden international told The Independent .

Defender contacts Gunners players

Despite being packed off to Marseille on loan this season, defender William Saliba is said to still be in close contact with his Arsenal team-mates.

The Frenchman is said to be keen to earn a place in the first team when he returns to the club in the summer, with reports stating he remains in contact with his Arsenal teammates including close friends Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah.

His move to Marseille is Saliba's third loan spell since arriving at the Emirates for £27million from St Etienne in 2019.
