Arsenal star Albert Sambi Lokonga speaks out on racist abuse aimed towards Kalidou Koulibaly

Albert Sambi Lokonga has condemned the racist abuse aimed towards Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

Koulibaly and his team-mate Victor Osimhen took to social media after the Italian outfit's 2-1 win at Fiorentina to share that they received racist abuse from some opposition supporters in Sunday's victory.

Fiorentina quickly released a statement following the game to express their condemnation of the vile abuse aimed towards the Napoli duo.

The statement read: "Fiorentina expresses the most firm and harsh condemnation for the episodes of racism that took place yesterday during the match against Napoli.

"General manager [Joe] Barone, already after the match, personally apologised."

Osimhen, when taking to Twitter following the abuse he received, called for children to become educated on the matter.

The Nigerian striker tweeted: "Speak to your kids, your parents make them understand how disgusting it is to hate an individual because of the colour of their skin. NOTORACISM."

Now, Sambi Lokonga, who signed for Arsenal over the summer transfer window, has condemned the racist abuse the Napoli duo had aimed towards them on Sunday.

The Belgium international posted an Instagram story, where he referenced Koulibaly's post, saying: "If they really want to stop racism they will! They don't stop it because they don't want!"

Serie A rivals Inter Milan shared their support for the Napoli pair following the incident, with the reigning Italian champions taking to Twitter to say: "Nothing can divide us - no distance, culture, or generation, because we are brothers and sisters of the world. We are with you, @kkoulibaly26! #BrothersUniversallyUnited #FCIM."

Since supporters returned to the stadiums in Italy, there have been a number of incidents, with Chelsea loanee Timeoue Bakayoko revealing recently that both he and AC Milan teammate Franck Kessie have been targeted.
