Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea receive top-four boost as Manchester United confirm blow

The Premier League top-four race is heating up as we enter the final two weeks of the season with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United battling for the Champions League places.

Spurs currently lead the way on 70 points ahead of Chelsea in fourth, who have amassed 68 points from 36 games this season. Arsenal are a further two points back after losing their last three games, while United are sixth on 65.

The Red Devils have only won two of their last ten matches in all competitions and look the side least likely to make the top four. If their fortunes weren't already on the downturn after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's honeymoon period finished, that has been compounded by the revelation that one of their players is out for the rest of the season.

United have confirmed that Eric Bailly has been ruled out for the rest of the campaign with medial ligament damage in his right knee. Bailly suffered the injury in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday.

The defender will now miss the Red Devils' final two Premier League games of the season against Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City. The 25-year-old will also be sidelined for the Africa Cup of Nations in a major blow for the Ivory Coast.

Solskjaer said following yesterday's match: "He will need a scan tomorrow, but I don't think it is the worst kind of knee injury you can have. He will be out for the rest of the season, but I don't think we will see him again before the start of next season."
