Arsenal sign George Lewis: Norwegian winger joins Gunners' U23 squad

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of George Lewis.

The Rwandan-born Norwegian winger, 20, has put pen to paper on a professional contract - the length of which has not been officially disclosed - in north London and will initially link-up with Steve Bould's Under-23 squad.

Lewis' deal comes after he impressed during a trial stint at Arsenal earlier this year, with the player previously plying his trade in the lower tiers of Norwegian football with Tromso IL, Tromsdalen and Fram Larvik.

A quick and skilfull right-footed winger comfortable playing on both flanks, he also previously spent time in England working with the likes of Bournemouth, Solihull United and Ipswich Town.

"George Lewis has signed a professional contract with us and joins our under-23s squad ahead of the new season," Arsenal confirmed via their official website on Tuesday.

The Gunners added: "Everyone at Arsenal welcomes George to the club and we look forward to supporting his ongoing development."
