English Premier League giant Arsenal kicked off its first trip to Australia in 40 years with a 2-0 victory in their friendly against A-League champions Sydney FC at the Olympic stadium in Homebush.
The Gunners got on the scoreboard early when captain Per Mertesacker scored a brilliant goal just four minutes into the contest, before the result was confirmed when new signing Alexandre Lacazette found the back of the net in the 83rd minute.
Arsenal will next face Western Sydney Wanderers at the Olympic stadium on Saturday night.
More to come.
