Arsenal are set to complete the signings of Sambi Lokonga and Nuno Taveres, football.london understands.
Lokonga, 21, is a Belgian international who has come through Anderlecht's esteemed academy and has caught the eye of Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu.
After negotiations began a fortnight ago, an agreement has now been reached for a fee in the region of €17.5million euros, which could rise to €22million depending on bonuses.
The midfielder has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners and is expected to complete a medical shortly.
Arteta's search for a younger profile left back appears to have come to an end following a lengthy search which first began in January.
An agreement in principle has been made with Benfica over Nuno Tavares.
The 21-year-old left back is also wanted by Brighton, Southampton and Napoli but it is Arsenal who are expected to get the deal over the line.
Tavares has been extensively scouted by Arsenal and is seen as a viable understudy to Kieran Tierney, who struggled with injury problems last season.
A fee of €8million plus add-ons has been agreed for the Portuguese defender, who played against Arsenal when the two teams met in the Europa League last season.
Meanwhile, Roma remain confident of signing Granit Xhaka despite interest from Juventus who have the Swiss midfielder lined up as an alternative for Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.
Roma haven't budged on their €12million plus €3million bonuses offer for Xhaka, with Arsenal wanting a minimum of €20million for the Gunners star.
