Arsenal are in line to wrap up two more deals before the summer transfer window closes.
The Gunners have already bolstered their first-team squad with the signings of Nuno Tavares, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Ben White, but manager Mikel Arteta isn't planning to stop there.
As reported on Tuesday night, Arsenal are closing in on bringing Martin Odegaard back for a second spell, but this time on a permanent deal having found a breakthrough with Real Madrid.
Furthermore, football.london understands that the Norway international will cost the north London outfit in the region of €35m (£29m), making him a cheaper alternative than the £60m-rated Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison.
With that said, Odegaard isn't the only player who is closing in on a move to Arsenal.
Sources close to Sheffield United have told football.london that a deal is likely to be reached for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for a fee in excess of £20million, with achievable add-ons increasing the eventual fee.
This move looked to have been called off last week when the Gunners made clear that they would not pay the reported £35m figure the Blades were asking for.
And as claimed by The Express, the Blades are now inclined to accept an offer closer to £24m
That is a lot less than what they were previously demanding, meaning Arsenal technical director Edu could seal a transfer masterstroke by saving around £11m based on the asking price last week to boost Arteta 's first-team squad even further.
Meanwhile, Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic delivered an update on Ramsdale when speaking to the media on Tuesday afternoon.
"It's natural he wants to be a Premier League player," Jokanovic admitted. "I am talking with him, he believes it can be a good move for himself but it is not a bad thing for him if he stays with us - he is a talented English player and I understand Arsenal are interested, but this is the business.
"If he is one of the best players in the league his price is high and it's up to Arsenal if they want to pay the money - I don't want to sell, but I understand the business side of the club and Aaron too."
