Arsenal sent Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang transfer message as Cristiano Ronaldo replacement found

It was announced on Friday afternoon that Cristiano Ronaldo has completed a sensational return to Manchester United.

The 36-year-old called it quits with Juventus, and despite looking like he was going to Manchester City earlier in the day, he completed a return to Old Trafford by the end of it.

Ronaldo will be playing Premier League football yet again, but Juventus are already looking to replace the Portugal international.

According to Italian news outlet TMW, Juve are keen on signing Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has less than two years remaining on his existing contract at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gabon international has been linked with a departure this summer and the Turin giants seem to have him in their sights.

Now, Arsenal have been sent a clear transfer message regarding Aubameyang, with the strict instruction not to sell him, despite reported interest from abroad.

Speaking to This is Futbol, former Sheffield United forward Dean Windass said: "Aubameyang might be the ticket for Arsenal this year.

"He is the captain, yeah, he let the club down last year, but we have all made mistakes and that is gone now. They would be very silly if they sold him."

Speaking about Arsenal after signing his new contract last summer, Auba mentioned how he wanted to become a legend for the north London club.

"Of course I knew about Arsenal before I arrived," he said after signing the contract.

"Everybody knows how special this club is, I have seen incredible players, passionate players, Invincible players.

"I dream of being one of them, among the best, and staying in the hearts of the fans forever.

"I want to become an Arsenal legend just like Thierry [Henry], Wrighty [Ian Wright], [Tony] Adams and [Dennis] Bergkamp - too many to mention.

"My dad is my biggest inspiration, he was captain of his club and his country, so it means so much to me to be the captain of this special club.

"I want to leave a legacy, this is where I belong, this is my family."
