Arsenal send anti-racism message ahead of Slavia Prague clash as Gunners show solidarity amid Glen Kamara storm

Arsenal have posted an anti-racism message on their official Twitter account ahead of their clash with Slavia Prague.

The Gunners sent a message of solidarity as they prepared to take on the Czech side in the Europa League last eight clash.

The fixture is being played against the backdrop of racism allegations from Rangers star Glen Kamara against Slavia defender Ondrej Kudela.

Kudela is accused of calling Kamara a "f*****g monkey" during a last 16 encounter at Ibrox in March.

The 34-year-old did not travel with his team-mates to London, with the club citing injury for his absence.

Kudela was served a one-match provisional suspension while the allegations are investigated.

Ahead of kick-off, Arsenal posted a picture of playmaker Emile Smith-Rowe taking the knee at the Emirates with the message: "We will always #SayNoToRacism".

The Slavia players opted to remain standing before the game commenced.

Earlier on Thursday, Rangers announced their players and management would participate in a seven-day social media boycott in protest at "daily" online racial abuse.

The Ibrox club have joined Swansea City in taking action and are set to meet with Instagram and Facebook to discuss their concerns.

A club statement said: "Rangers can confirm that as of 7pm this evening (Thursday), our players and management will take part in a week-long boycott of social media.

"This is to underline the ongoing concerns over a lack of accountability and responsibility from social media outlets.

"In particular, we are concerned with the daily racist abuse our players have to endure, and believe that although social media can be a very positive and healthy platform for communication, there is undoubted concern the levels of hate are now spiralling out of control."
