Ian Wright revealed his list of three dream Arsenal signings last summer, with the Gunners managing to eventually sign one of the players.
The former Arsenal striker named a trio of stars who he believed would help the north London side right the wrongs of the previous season, which saw them narrowly miss out on Champions League football under Unai Emery.
Under the Spaniard, Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League and were well beaten by Chelsea in the Europa League final.
And Wright had drawn up a shortlist of players to help his former club secure their ultimate goal of Champions League qualification.
"Someone like Ben Chilwell. He is the kind of left-back who is getting better with every game. He's an England international now. Somebody that I'm sure is going to be sought after," Wright said, speaking to The Mirror last summer.
"Then there is Youri Tielemans. He came over from Monaco. He's on loan at Leicester City and he's someone that - well there are loads of teams linked with him - but he's someone that you'd want to have.
"And Nicolas Pepe at Lille. That kind of winger with his intensity, pace and skill. Those are the kind of players that are definitely going to improve any team, if I'm totally honest.
"And they're at the age where they are going to be there for a few years. So that's a dream list if I'm being totally honest."
Arsenal would go on to secure the signing of Pepe in club record deal worth up £72 million, with the winger signing a five-year deal.
Pepe has shown flashes on his ability, but struggled to initially adapt to English football, with former boss Emery dropping the Ivory Coast international.
And the Spaniard has since revealed how the club ignored his demands to sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace and pushed ahead with a deal for Pepe instead.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Emery said: "I was in favour of someone coming who knew the English league, more than anything so that he wouldn't need a period of adaptation.
"I had a meeting with Zaha, the Palace player. He was the player I wanted because I could see that he won so many games on his own.
"I saw 20 Zaha games, some incredible performances and I told them that this is the player that I want for this team… I spoke to Zaha. I had been with him personally. And he wanted to come.
"But the club decided that Pepe was younger, he was one for the future. I said: yes, but we need to win now and this lad [Zaha] wins games. He did it to us."
