'Arsenal saving Huddersfield' - Gunners' fans love what Emile Smith Rowe did vs Bristol City

Arsenal winger Emile Smith Rowe is enjoying his time on loan at Championship side Huddersfield Town.

The 19-year-old signed on loan for the rest of the season during the January transfer window and has played a part in all but one of the Terriers' Championship games since joining the club.

The teenager scored his first goal for the club in the 3-2 defeat to Fulham, a game in which he got his first assist for the club too.

Smith Rowe has been left out of the starting lineup for the last two league games due to an injury niggle, with Huddersfield boss Danny Cowley explaining his decision.

Mikel Arteta praises his team after playing three games in seven days

"Well we didn't want to leave Emile Smith Rowe out. Don't think I woke up pleased that I had to leave Emile out of the starting eleven because he's been excellent for us," he said, as reported by ExaminerLive .

"He played on Wednesday and just had something at the back of his knee that was irritating him. We were a little bit concerned about him Wednesday and we just felt it would be too much of a risk."

The winger was restored to the starting XI for Huddersfield's Championship game against Bristol City at the John Smith's Stadium, and he made an instant impact by providing the assist for former Arsenal youngster Chris Willock, older brother of Gunners' midfielder Joe, to put the Terriers one goal to the good at the half time break.

Arsenal fans took to social media to react.

Huddersfield are looking to move away from the bottom three in the Championship table and know that a win will be crucial in their hopes of surviving.

Should the Terriers hang onto the lead, they will move onto 39 points five points ahead of Wigan in 22nd.

Smith Rowe has three goals in 12 first team appearances for Arsenal.
