Arsenal's transfer pursuit of Odsonne Edouard detailed as Alexandre Lacazette dismisses speculation

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Sunday, September 13.

Ceballos takes to social media to play down Nketiah clash

Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos took to social media to ease fans’ concerns after a bust up between him and teammate Eddie Nketiah ahead of Saturday’s game at Fulham.

The Gunners' 3-0 win on the opening day of the Premier League season was impressive but did raise the talking point.

Ceballos and Nketiah, both named on the bench, squared up to each other after the latter dived into a tackle in the pre-match warm up.

The Spaniard, though, was quick to dispel any suggestions of a feud between the two.

He posted a photo on Instagram after the game alongside Nketiah, with the caption: “No problems here. My brother @eddienketiah.”

Lacazette insists he is ‘happy’ at Arsenal

Alexandre Lacazette has dismissed talk of a move this summer amid links with Atletico Madrid and Juventus .

The Arsenal striker was on the scoresheet in his side’s 3-0 win at Fulham, giving his side the lead with a close-range finish after just eight minutes at Craven Cottage.

And in his post-match interview, Lacazette insisted reports suggesting he could leave the club are nothing more than speculation.

“I am really happy, it's only the press who say I'm not happy and want to leave,” the Frenchman told BT Sport. “But me from the beginning I've said I'm happy with Arsenal, I want to play and win titles.

“We won a title last month, so I am happy with Arsenal.”

Arsenal aim to use ‘Tierney tactic’ in Edouard pursuit

The Gunners intend to repeat the kind of negotiation that saw them sign Kieran Tierney last summer as they look to bring in Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard.

Arsenal have reportedly made a bid for the Frenchman, who hit 28 goals in all competitions last season.

And the hope is that they will be able to complete a similar deal to that which brought Tierney to the club from Celtic last year.

“It's our information that there is an interest from Arsenal in Odsonne Edouard, the France [youth] international striker currently at Celtic,” Ian McGarry said on the Transfer Window podcast.

“It's our information that the initial offer from Arsenal was £15m, which was rejected by Celtic.

“That offer has since been increased to £20m with add-ons up to the value of another £2.5m.

“However, the payment would be staged over four years, something which of course we saw last season with the transfer of Kieran Tierney to the Emirates. Celtic would prefer to have a much bigger payment up front.”
