Arsenal's three worst players as nine-man Gunners slump to shambolic defeat at Wolves

Bizarre errors from David Luiz and Bernd Leno led to red cards and Arsenal's demise as they went down 2-1 to Wolves at Molineux.

After Bukayo Saka had seen an early effort chalked off by VAR, Nicolas Pepe put the Gunners in front with a fine finish after being found by Alexandre Lacazette.

But against a Wolves side without a win in eight Premier League games, the visitors began to collapse when Luiz was sent off for bringing down Willian Jose in the box, with Ruben Neves scoring from the spot.

Joao Moutinho then put the hosts ahead with a brilliant strike from range, but Leno was sent off for handling outside his area after a complete misjudgement.

Here are the Gunners players who didn't have a good night.

David Luiz

Now where have we seen that before?

Oh yeah, from David Luiz. All those times he did it before.

You can debate the actual amount of contact the Brazilian made on Willian Jose as he entered the penalty area but the fact was that there was enough.

Down went Jose, out came the red card and suddenly all you could hear was the theme tune from Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Luiz has actually had a decent season for Arsenal, but the thing with him is that you always know one of these is just around the corner.

Tonight was the night, Wolves were the recipients and the game was changed.

Cedric Soares

This is possibly a bit harsh on the Portuguese given the shambolic company he's keeping, but Arsenal didn't half miss Kieran Tierney at Molineux.

Kieran Tierney himself probably didn't miss being at Molineux due to the fact that he's have been up against Adama Traore and his invisible jetpack, but the Scot's deputy just wasn't up to the task of trying to deal with him.

The key to defending against Traore appears to be to not get too close to him, and while Cedric did adhere to that approach that doesn't mean that you leave him completely isolated either.

There were signs of Cedric's quality going forward, but once Arsenal abandoned football to become a travelling comedy act he was largely useless.

Bernd Leno

Wh... what?

Quite what was going through the goalkeeper's mind when he opted to roam out of his box for an impromptu game of Black Country volleyball only he knows, but the brain freeze saw him sent off and all of us scratch our heads.

The German didn't have a chance with Ruben Neves' penalty and Joao Moutinho's brilliant strike, but do you know what he did have a chance with?

Yep. Not doing that.
