Both Arsenal and Chelsea are facing a big summer transfer window but for very different reasons.
Mikel Arteta knows that he is under pressure as Gunners boss and the dealings the club make over the next few weeks could prove crucial for his future in north London.
So far, Arsenal have brought in Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga from Benfica and Anderlecht respectively and could make even more signings over the course of the summer.
For Thomas Tuchel and the Blues, it is also a huge summer of transfer business, with the German coach looking to put his own stamp on the squad.
Chelsea have been heavily linked with a new striker as Tuchel looks to bring in a proven goal scorer to add to the firepower at Stamford Bridge.
However, the champions of Europe could look to sell some of their current players before bringing anyone in. Olivier Giroud recently sealed a move to AC Milan, but there could be another striker set to leave west London over the next few weeks.
According to The Athletic, Tuchel and Chelsea do not see Tammy Abraham as someone that will help the club challenge for the Premier League title next season and could be sold instead.
Chelsea value Abraham at around £40million and there are plenty of interested parties - including Arsenal.
But the Gunners, despite their reported interest, are "currently not in advanced talks" for his services, according to Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano.
The Blues are thought to be "aware of Arsenal interest" but are yet to receive an official offer for the 23-year-old striker.
Abraham has featured just seven times for Chelsea since Tuchel took over from Frank Lampard in January, raising doubts over his long-term future at Stamford Bridge.
Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Giroud - before his recent departure - have all been preferred by Tuchel in the centre-forward position.
What adds even more fuel to the fire regarding the transfer rumours is that Abraham has revealed in the past that he was an Arsenal supporter when growing up.
The London-born striker, when on loan at Bristol City in 2016/17, spoke about Thierry Henry being his idol growing up.
“To be honest I was an Arsenal fan. It didn’t make any difference at Chelsea," Abraham said.
“When you’re young and you choose who to support, if it’s a family thing, it’s a family thing. Luckily for me it was a family thing, so it wasn’t really a problem at Chelsea.
“Someone I looked up to was Thierry Henry. His variations of finishing, his movement, the way he dribbles… someone like that has a key impact on me. I would love to be as big as him and maybe even better.”
Arsenal, meanwhile, are looking for a new centre-forward due to the uncertainty of Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah's futures at the Emirates Stadium.
Lacazette and Nketiah both have just under 12 months remaining on their respective contracts and the Gunners are well aware that this summer is the last chance to cash in on the attacking duo unless they put pen-to-paper on an extension, which at the moment, looks unlikely.
