Arsenal's stance on Eddie Nketiah's Leeds United loan

Arsenal have not opened discussions with Leeds United over the future of Eddie Nketiah amid concerns about game time at Elland Road, according to reports.

Nketiah moved to Leeds in the summer on a season-long loan with a huge reputation as the Gunners looked to aid his development ahead of breaking into the first-team.

The 20-year-old has scored four goals for United and netted an England Under-21 hat-trick on Tuesday evening, but is yet to make his first league start with Patrick Bamford impressing in attack.

Reports over the weekend suggested that Arsenal were considering their options for the England under-21 international with the Premier League side holding a recall option when the window opens.

Championship rivals Bristol City are thought to have revived their interest after missing out to Leeds in the summer as they look to replace the injured Benik Afobe.

However Football.London confirms that Gunners are 'simply keeping a close eye on proceedings' with no discussions between the player and two clubs over a potential mid-season recall.

They report that the situation is not expected to be addressed until next month's international break.

"Some players are involved a lot before creating chances," Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa said about the striker last month.

"Nketiah is more involved at the end of the action but he has good characteristics to combine with his team-mates to give us these options.

"He is a striker who can score goals. For me, he is a complete player."
