It's no secret that Arsenal are looking to bolster their defence this summer and with just two days remaining of the transfer window it appears that the search is kicking up a notch.
The Gunners have been linked with numerous defenders over the course of the season, including the likes of Daniele Rugani from Juventus, and of course, Kieran Tierney from Celtic.
However it appears that one man is dominating their efforts.
That man is Dayot Upamecano.
The 20-year-old is the subject of intense interest from the Gunners who see him as the ideal man to lead their defence going into the new Premier League season.
However, the Frenchman won't come cheap with parent club RB Leipzig rating the starlet particularly highly.
The Daily Mail have reported that Arsenal have had a bid of £55million rejected for Upamecano, however the German side see the offer as being too low.
Instead they're hoping that the Gunners will throw in Emile Smith Rowe in order to get a deal done.
The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season with RB Leipzig, and it's thought that they're keen to bring the attacking midfielder back to the Bundesliga either on loan or on a permanent deal.
Arsenal reportedly value the midfielder at £25million, but it remains to be seen whether they'll be looking to include him in any future offers.
After all, it depends how highly they rate Dayot Upamecano, and more importantly, how much of a priority it is to find a defender before Thursday's transfer window.
