Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang talks up his admiration for Liverpool duo amid transfer speculation

Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has praised Liverpool's striking duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

The Gabon international admitted his pride and happiness at being awarded the Premier League Golden Boot alongside the Reds' pair.

All three forwards shared the award after they each finished the 2018/19 campaign on 22 goals each.

In his own words on Arsenal's official website he said: "It meant a lot to win the Golden Boot.

"I am really happy and proud of it, especially to share the trophy with Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

"I really like these two guys. We are representing Africa so it is a good sign for the continent."

Aubameyang signed for the Gunners last January but could be on the move again according to subsequent transfer speculation.

The 30-year-old has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United.

And according to the Daily Star the Reds, who are in need of a replacement for Daniel Sturridge, could look to strike a deal with the Londoners.

However, with the Gunners' £56m signing likely to command a hefty transfer fee, it would appear unlikely Aubameyang will be joining the Reds this window.
