Arsenal's new German scout given three-man shortlist for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang replacement

Arsenal's chances of replacing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a Bundesliga striker have increased after recruiting a new German scout.

The Gunners have further bolstered their scouting department with the arrival of Florian Bluchel from Bayern Munich, football.london understands.

It was announced on Tuesday morning that Aubameyang would no longer be Arsenal captain after a consistent breach of disciplinary rules.

The new development puts the Gabonese international’s future in north London in doubt, which is bad news considering Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette also look set to leave the club due to their contracts expiring.

Edu will eventually need to sign a new striker and The Arsenal Way look at three potential targets that Bluchel could suggest to club staff.

Patrik Schick

The 25-year-old has been excellent for Bayer Leverkusen this season and is currently the top scorer in the Bundesliga with 14 goals.

He had a tough spell at Roma and RB Leipzig before joining his current club, but after a successful European Championship, he has really kicked on this season.

Transfermarkt values the player at £25 million, meaning he could be a cheap replacement for Aubameyang.

Andre Silva

Andre Silva has reignited his career in the Bundesliga after a difficult spell in the Serie A with AC Milan.

The Portuguese striker has been impressive for RB Leipzig this season, scoring three goals in the Champions League, alongside four goals in the Bundesliga.

At 26 years old, the striker is almost at peak age and he could be viewed as a reliable option.

Wout Weghorst

Wout Weghorst would certainly be the last option out of these strikers, but he is still a possibility nevertheless.

The Dutch striker has been linked to many Premier League clubs before, but a deal has never managed to materialise.

His goal-scoring record hasn’t been great this campaign having only found the net five times so far, but his six-foot-four frame certainly poses a different question for defenders.
