Arsenal have been handed another blow ahead of Sunday's trip to face Leeds United after midfielder Mohamed Elneny again tested positive for Covid-19.
The Egyptian FA have confirmed that Elneny and Liverpool's Mo Salah's most-recent results showed that the pair still both have the virus and will need to continue to self-isolate.
Elneny had been away on international duty for Egypt's African Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo on Saturday, only to return an initial positive test that ruled him out of that fixture.
That ruled him out of Sunday's trip to Elland Road, meaning the Gunners will be without the midfielder who has featured in five of their eight matches so far this season.
News of Elneny's second test came after it emerged that defender Sead Kolasinac has also tested positive while on duty with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Unless the test is proven to be a false positive, he will also miss out against Marcelo Bielsa's men.
These positive tests have been compounded by news that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was forced to spend an evening sleeping on an airport floor with the Gabon squad due to an administrative problem ahead of a ACON qualifier with Gambia.
Willian will also be required to return a negative coronavirus test before he can join up with the Gunners squad again after he flew to Dubai during the international break.
Leeds are set to welcome Rodrigo back to their side after he missed the defeats to Leicester City and Crystal Palace owing to a positive test.
