Arsenal's Mesut Ozil all but confirms Fenerbahce transfer with social media message

Mesut Ozil has all-but confirmed his move to Fenerbahce and his Arsenal exit.

It emerged today that Ozil is teetering on the edge of a move to Fenerbahce with the expectation that the midfielder's contract will be cancelled ahead of a free move to Turkey.

Ozil has not played for Arsenal since March due to what Mikel Arteta says are 'footballing reasons', while others suggest the reason he has been frozen out is his refusal to leave ahead of the last year of his £350,000-per-week contract.

But the German's nightmare is almost over and his departure will signal the end of his seven-and-a-half years at the Emirates Stadium.

Ahead of the potential move, the Turkish club tweeted a line from a song, saying: "Come Let Us Be Night With Day..." along with a sand timer emoji.

That appeared to be an almighty hint at Ozil's arrival and the move was all-but confirmed when Ozil quote retweeted it with yellow and blue hearts with a sand-timer.

Arsenal fans also noticed an interesting change in Ozil's social media logo, which is an 'M' with a football.

The colours of the logo were previously black and red, with the red likely representing Arsenal, and interestingly, the colours are now black and yellow.

And fans believe the yellow could represent Fenerbahce, whose home colours are navy blue and yellow, colours Ozil could soon find himself wearing.

Ozil made 184 league appearances for the Gunners during his time at the club, scoring 33 times having arrived from Real Madrid on a deal worth more than £40million from Real Madrid.
