Jack Wilshere stepped up his comeback from ankle surgery on Tuesday night as the midfielder completed 90 minutes for Arsenal’s Under-21 side in a 4-1 win over Stoke.
Wilshere, who has not played in the Premier League since being injured in the 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on 22 November, featured alongside Mikel Arteta, Abou Diaby and Serge Gnabry in a comfortable victory at the Emirates.
The 23-year-old featured in a reserve team friendly against Brentford last week but showed he is close to full fitness against Stoke. His volley 17 minutes from time eventually led to Arsenal’s third goal, which was converted by Stephy Mavididi.
